This volume brings together the research of young scholars on a variety of themes related to ancient and early medieval India. It showcases important trends in the reconstruction of India’s early past.
As a part of our Research and Documentation initiative with the Mir community in Bikaner, we made a documentary film Music of the Mirs (73 min 30s, 2008).
The film is an attempt to document and explore the past and present of the Mirs and their music. It has evolved out of an enriching partnership between Manana and the Mirs — The Mirs wanted their history and music documented, and we were in love with their music! Chosen from a plethora of over 400 papers presented at the IV International WWH Congress, the selected readings contain the essence of the proceedings, and form an integral part of the continuum of studies, research and analysis done in the field of women’s work and health.
2007-2008: Efforts are being made to continue with the project of Gender Resource and reference manual. It is a continuation of the Resource guide published by Manana and released for the Women Work Health International Congress (Nov. 27th-30th 2005).
